Android 9 Pie Open Beta 1 update now available for OnePlus 6

OnePlus has just announced that the first Android 9 Pie Open Beta is now available for download for anyone using its OnePlus 6 smartphone. However, to upgrade to Android 9.0 pie, you will have to download a ROM package and flash it on OnePlus 6.

Unfortunately, migrating from a stable to a beta channel can prevent you from receiving stable updates on Android, as long as you do not flash another ROM on the phone, OnePlus will be released.

Instructions for upgrading from Stable official version to Android P Beta version

1. Download the ROM upgrade package from the specified server [HERE].
2. Copy ROM upgrade package to the mobile phone storage.
3. Settings -> system updates -> top right corner icon -> local upgrade -> click on the installation package -> immediately upgrade -> system upgrade to 100%.
4. Select Reboot system now.
5. Update successfully.​





■ Instructions for upgrading from Developer Preview version to Android P Beta version

Upgrading process:
1. Download the latest ROM upgrade package from the specified server [HERE].
2. Copy ROM upgrade package to the mobile phone storage.
3. Settings -> system updates -> top right corner icon -> local upgrade -> click on the installation package -> immediately upgrade -> system upgrade to 100%.
4. Press the power button and choose to shut down.
5. Select Reboot system now.
6. Press the power button + volume down to enter recovery mode.
7. Select Wipe data/factory reset, click power, select yes, confirm.
8. Select Reboot system now.
9. Update successfully.
Please note: This upgrade will clear all contents of the phone, please make sure to back up.​

■ Instructions for downgrading from Android P Beta version to MP version

Rollback process:
1. Download the latest ROM package from the specified server [HERE].
2. Copy ROM rollback package to the mobile phone storage root directory.
3. Settings -> system updates -> top right corner icon -> local upgrade -> click on the installation package -> immediately upgrade -> system upgrade to 100%.
4. Select Reboot system now.
5. Update successfully.
Please note: This upgrade will clear all contents of the phone, please make sure to back up.
