Google Home can now adds sound effects and music to story time

Google announced a new update for the Google Home appIf you own a Google Home, Google Home Mini or Google Home Max, you will be able to add music or sound effects to books that you’re reading aloud.

Google is expanding on that repertoire with storytelling sound effects for certain Disney stories. Parents in the US can activate the new feature by saying “Hey Google, let’s read along with Disney. Once your smart speaker is set up, you can start by saying “Hey Google, read along with…” and the title of the book you plan to read. Keep in mind though that the mic will stay on while you read the book, but commands, searches, and answers will be disabled.

Some Google Home users are receiving Digital Wellbeing features

Google’s library of Disney books includes some classics, as well as newer movie-related titles: Mickey’s Christmas Carol, The Three Little Pigs, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, Coco, Jack-Jack Attack, Mickey Mouse and his Spaceship, Moana, Toy Story 3, Peter Pan, and Mickey Mouse Goes Christmas Shopping.

The Google Home will exist Story Mode if there is about a minute pause in the reading of the story or you say “Hey Google, stop.” Also, you’ll be able to resume the reading session within five minutes of pausing by saying “Hey Google, resume read along.

The feature works with Google Home, Google Home Mini, and Google Home Max in the US only.
