We will see lots of 5G smartphones next year. Almost all smartphone companies like Samsung, Huawei, Honor, Lenovo, and LG have also confirmed they will launch 5G smartphones in 2019, but the year isn’t over yet and more companies may announce similar plans.
Qualcomm announced that at least two 5G smartphones will be revealed early next year. Qualcomm president Cristiano Amon told us to expect at least two 5G flagship smartphones next year, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei confirmed that his company will indeed be releasing a 5G device next year and that according to his knowledge, OnePlus will be one of the first, if not the first, to do so. The exec also mentioned that his team had already conducted a 5G test at Qualcomm’s headquarters in San Diego back in August.
OnePlus’ official also said that to his knowledge his company’s 5G smartphone will be one of the first of its kind to be available on the market next year. Considering the fact that OnePlus launches flagships only, it would be safe to assume that the OnePlus 7 (or whatever its name) will be slightly more expensive due to the addition of 5G technology.
