According to industry sources, Samsung is ready to enter in Triple rear camera race because its next S-Series flagship phone Galaxy S10 could be packed with three rear-facing cameras as well as a 3-D sensor to take on its rivals.
“Samsung, which has a lower-than-expected demand for its latest Galaxy S9 lineup, will consider equipping its next premium phone with the triple cameras and a 3-D sensor to reinvigorate its smartphone business,” told Kim Dong-won, an analyst from KB Securities.
The triple rear camera setup allows consumers to take clearer and crisper pictures at different angles than single and dual peers and to use enhanced zoom features, can also be utilized for augmented reality solutions.
Chinese smartphone maker Huawei becomes the first which introduced this tech with its newly launched P20 Pro phone, the phone features 40 MP main camera for regular shots, a 20 MP monochrome camera, and an 8 MP telephoto (zoom) camera.
It’s also rumored that the next-generation iPhone will also feature triple camera setup with the 3D vision for Augmented Reality purposes to amaze its customers. The device could go as iPhone X Plus and anticipated to launched with triple camera setup.
It’s reported that the triple camera feature in Samsung’s upcoming device could cost a hefty amount of money, because the supply volume and price of smartphone parts, including camera modules and sensors, will likely increase despite the slowdown in the global smartphone market.
