Samsung has just introduced its new and intuitive interface design called One UI which is built on top of Android OS, which will also be used in Foldable Phones. One UI is all about putting important functions and features in focus for the end user, in addition to making single-handed usage easy by interactable elements down to the lower half of the screen.
The new interface provides interactive controls in the bottom half of the display, allowing users to easily reach and touch UI objects with a thumb while using a large screen smartphone with one hand.
Samsung continues to build on its legacy of category-defining form factor and display innovation that has paved the way for a breakthrough foldable smartphone form factor. The Infinity Flex Display together with One UI delivers a new kind of mobile experience allowing users to do things they couldn’t do with an ordinary smartphone. Users now have the best of both worlds: a compact smartphone that unfolds to reveal a larger immersive display for multitasking and viewing content. The app experience seamlessly transitions from the smaller display to the larger display as the device unfolds. In addition, users can browse, watch, connect and multitask without losing a beat, simultaneously using three active apps on the larger display.
According to Samsung “The new UI is re-engineered to reduce clutter and distractions, allowing the user for better focus and quickly navigate their phone,”
There is one new feature that was introduced as one of the main highlights of this User Interface as ‘Night Mode’ for a comfortable viewing experience in the dark or in Night, which brings a cool look to this UI.
One UI will be available for beta testing on selected devices starting from this month.
